Midwest Architecture Forum

Min | Day is playing a central role in the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts' Midwest Architecture Forum. Jeff will give a talk and participate on a panel discussion on Saturday, July 19 at the Bemis Center. On Sunday the 20th, the Bemis is organizing a tour of Min | Day's House on Lake Okoboji. The Forum will take place in the Soft Cube, Min | Day's installation in Bemis Gallery 3.

Art Farm @ Sheldon: Art | Landscape | Architecture symposium

As part of a symposium organized around the Art Farm @ Sheldon exhibition Jeff will moderate a panel discussion (Art | Landscape | Architecture) on March 1, 2008 with architects, landscape architects and artist about issues revolving around Art Farm and broader issues of "land".

Panel members will be: Matthew Coolidge, Center for Land Use Interpretation, Los Angeles; Ed Dadey, founder of Art Farm; Martin Hogue, Assistant Professor at Syracuse University School of Architecture; Patricia Morgado, Assistant Professor, UNL College of Architecture; Leslie Raymond, Potter Belmar Labs, Assistant Professor, UTSA Department of Art & Art History; and Jason Jay Stevens, Potter Belmar Labs, San Antonio.

Art Farm @ Sheldon

Art Farm @ Sheldon, a large museum exhibition organized by Min | Day presents our work with FACT for the Art Farm. The exhibition is on view at the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery in Lincoln, Nebraska from January 4, 2008 through April 27, 2008.

INFRATHIN lectures at U. of Arkansas at Lousiana State

On September 24, 2007 E.B. and Jeff lectured at the University of Arkansas and on October 24 Jeff lectured at Louisiana State University.

2007 AIA Nebraska

In the 2007 AIA Nebraska Awards Min|Day won 1 of a total of 10 awards: in the unbuilt category Min | Day received a Honor Awards for the Okada Ceramics Center design for the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha.

Monterey Design Conference

E.B. and Jeff have been invited to speak at the Monterey Design Conference on October 21, 2007 as one of three "Emerging Talent" designers.

Min | Day's exhibit and lecture road show stops at the University of Arkansa on September 24, 2007. From Arkansas Jeff and E.B. will take Infrathin further south to Louisiana State University in October.

Art Farm @ Sheldon

The Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery at the University of Nebraska will present a major exhibition of the Art Farm design proposal by Min | Day + FACT. The exhibition will provide an evolving look at the design work for Art Farm presented in the context of rural art practices, land use and the construction of landscape. The show opens on January 4, 2008 and runs through April 27.

Min | Day in collaboration with el dorado inc, Marlon Blackwell Architect, and FACE Design has won a 2006 AIA Kansas City Honor Award for the Ferrous Park project.

Min | Day's exhibit and lecture road show stops at the University of New Mexico on January 29. E.B. and Jeff will speak about the work as the show opens at the UNM School of Architecture and Planning.

An interview and "walking tour" with E.B. is featured in the San Francisco Chronicle on September 23, 2006 in conjunction with San Francisco's "Architecture and the City" event. The article by Mary Jo Bowling feature's E.B.'s discussion of Dogpatch, the fringe neighborhood that is home to Min|Day SF.

AIA Central States Region Honor Award

Min | Day in collaboration with el dorado inc, Marlon Blackwell Architect, and FACE Design has won a 2006 AIA Central States Region Honor Award for unbuilt work for the Ferrous Park project.

INFRATHIN @ Roger Williams

Min | Day's exhibition "Infrathin" will travel next to Roger Williams University School or Architecture, Art and Historic Preservation in Bristol, R.I. The show will open on November 1 and run through November 29. Min | Day will deliver a lecture at the school in conjunction with the gallery opening.

Ferrous Park competition winner

Min|Day, in collaboration with el dorado architects, Marlon Blackwell Architect, and FACE Design has won the international housing competition for Ferrous Park in Kansas City. Two other winning firms have also been selected and the three teams will negotiate a contract for the commissions to design prefabricated housing for a post-industrial art park in the Crossroads Arts District.

Drawing Lines on the Land

The Kansas City-based art journal REVIEW published an article by Jeff Day on Art Farm in it's annual issue on design: "2006 Urban Stories of Place". The issue is dedicated to mapping and the construction of uban space.

Ferrous Park

Min|Day, in collaboration with el dorado architects, Marlon Blackwell Architect, and FACE Design has been selected as a finalist in the international housing competition for Ferrous Park in Kansas City.

INFRATHIN

Min|Day's exhibition "Infrathin" opened successfully on March 21 at Syracuse University in the School of Architecture's new, temporary facility, the Warehouse (designed by Richard Gluckman). The exhibit closed today, but we are in talks with other venues and the show will likely travel in the fall of 2006. The exhibition explores Min|Day's work in relation to landscape and the "regulting lines" that organize settlement and create new space. "In architecture and landscape, infrathin concerns not only the first mark on the land, the line, but also the thinness that separates artifact and site, the frame from the view, the surface from depth, and the distance between one moment and next."

Exploring Altered Practice

In conjunction with the Altered Practice exhibition, E.B. Min is one of 5 panelists who will discuss their work at the AIA San Francisco on December 7th from 5:30 to 7:30pm. The exhibit has been extended at the AIA San Francisco Gallery until December 16.

AIA Nebraska Awards

In the 2005 AIA Nebraska Awards Min|Day wins 2 of a total of 12 awards: in the unbuilt category we received a Citation Award for Victoria House at Art Farm and a Citation Award for the House on Wood Island.

Min|Day + FACT's work at Art Farm will be included in the exhibition "Altered Practice" at the AIA San Francisco Gallery from October 6-November 30, 2005

"The AIA San Francisco Gallery proudly presents Altered Practice, an exhibition featuring architects and designers whose work extends beyond the conventions of typical architectural practice. Architects who design furniture, industrial designers who collaborate with architects, and designers who critically rethink architectural practice are all part of this dynamic exhibition.
